Designed as part of the adult completion program, the four-year fully accredited BAAS degree plan offers a traditional BAAS concentration, in addition to five other concentrations.
Affordability and Admissions
Applicants must use ApplyTexas to apply to MWSU. Must contact the BAAS degree program for eligibility. Only transfer students with 18 hours of college course credits and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, or reviewed for individual consideration.
Applicants may submit FAFSA, and have two sources to apply for scholarships. Transfer scholarships are available, as well as scholarships offered through the Office of Donor Relations. Amounts vary and are determined by eligibility and availability.

Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science (BSRS)
For almost 50 years, MSU has been at the forefront of radiologic sciences education. The BSRS Degree is designed for lateral and upward mobility if you are an ARRT registered technologist or a registry-eligible student who is unable to attend college on a full-time basis. As a registered technologist you may earn up to 42 semester credit hours of advanced standing.
Affordability and Admissions
- Note: (If you are an out-of-state student (residing in a state other than Texas), recent Federal regulations may prohibit you from taking courses from Midwestern State University.)
- Candidates must apply to MWSU AND to the BSRS Program. Candidates must have a postsecondary GPA of 2.0 or higher to be considered for admission and will be classified as pre-BSRS (RADP) students until their qualifications for acceptance into the BSRS Program are verified. For admittance into the program, students must be registered by the ARRT, NMTCB, ARDMS, or be a second year student in an accredited program in the Radiologic Sciences

Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care (BSRC)
As one of the leading respiratory care programs in the United States, MSU has continued to excel in the education and preparation of its students, and is one of the few programs of its kind in the southern US. Students are given the opportunity to build skills and experience through clinical rotations at over 19 different sites. Upon degree completion, graduates find employment in a dynamic, growing healthcare field and are highly sought after.
Affordability and Admissions
- Students must be accepted to MWSU and apply online for admission to the BSRC Program. Additionally, 36 of 42 general core credits must be completed before being formally admitted to the program.
- Due to the limited clinical spots available in the program, admission is based on a ranking system based on: the GPA of prerequisites, number of prerequisites completed at MSU, performance on the ATI TEAS Examination (MUST BE TAKEN), and the possibility of an Applicant Personal Interview with program faculty.
- There is no out-of-state tuition for our distance students. Students pay a minimal distance fee per credit to prevent a tuition increase.

Students can choose to take 10 out of 15 ONLINE courses offered in the program. Semesters are traditional university length (16 week semesters) with summer courses running 10 weeks. Students can Because student work schedules fluctuate, courses are asynchronous, but professor-student interaction is always available and encouraged. Students have the option to take as many courses simultaneously as he or she wants.
Career Outlook
The majority of MSU graduates find full-time employment as respiratory therapists prior to graduation, and many become managers, directors, senior administrators, educators, physician assistants, and ICU, NICU, PICU, and ECMO specialists.

RN to BSN Degree
This program is designed to help certified RNs with a diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) receive their BSN Degree and enhance their professional skills and value in an increasingly complex and demanding field of healthcare. A Texas Nursing License is required and must be maintained throughout the course of study.
Affordability and Admissions
- Students must have completed all core and prerequisite courses at any community college or university before taking any RN-BSN courses. A separate RN Transition application must be submitted online, and once reviewed will be followed by additional steps. Admission to MSU is also necessary to fulfill under normal Transfer Student requirements. RN-Transition students are eligible to pursue a Master’s in Nursing (MSN) Degree, which will transition smoothly following the RN-Transition program and must declare intent to pursue the MSN degree upon applying to the Wilson School of Nursing.
- FAFSA must be submitted by January 15th for Fall Admission. Transfer Scholarships are available and must be submitted by April 1st for consideration, as well scholarships from the Office of Donor Services and Scholarships (amount determined by funding and availability).
