Students have access to be inspired in customized studio spaces in which to cultivate their talents. Each semester, you will create your own works side-by-side with professional faculty-artists, visiting artists, and other student-artists.
Classroom Type
During your first few semesters, you will be given the opportunity to explore a wide variety of 2D and 3D media. Later, you will select one or two media in which you will focus your final semesters of work. This will enable you to further develop your skills, your artistic voice, and your own unique style.

Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that engages the client in the creation of artwork, using the process of artmaking as a key component to healing—emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Classroom Type
In the art therapy major, you will be introduced to a studio-based program. It is designed for those who wish to explore their talents in a studio concentration (Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Papermaking, Printmaking and Book Arts) while also making a difference in the lives of others and in communities.
Career Outlook
The studio-based program, taught by registered and board-certified art therapists along with practicing studio artists, is aligned with the curriculum guidelines of the American Art Therapy Association and will fully prepare you to pursue a graduate degree in art therapy. A master’s degree in art therapy is a minimum requirement to practice art therapy. Your bachelor’s degree will also prepare you to work in an array of fields.
