Lewis University’s College of Education is dedicated to teaching both the mind and the spirit. By fostering a collaborative atmosphere between students and faculty, Lewis has become a Midwest leader in creating transformative educators who strive to make a difference in the classroom, the school system, and the communities around them. Such an achievement is based on the mission of John Baptist de La Salle, the Patron Saint of Educators, whose schools focused on providing a practical education so that everyone could make a difference in society.

Lewis’ dedication to continuing this mission has resulted in a supportive educational community that provides hands-on experience and exposure to a variety of cultures both in the classroom and in the field. This has been accomplished through its partnership with 60 school districts, 7 counties, and 130 schools in the Chicago area, earning the programs accreditation from the National Council for Teacher Accreditation (NCATE).
